C R A G

Welcome to The Crudwell Recreation Action Group.

We proudly opened the multi-sports facilities in the far corner of the Village Hall playing fields in 2003. CRAG was the inspiration of Rebecca Thomson and was designed, consented, and constructed within 12 months of the first kick-off meeting.

A key ethos of the facility was, and still is, Sport for All for the community of Crudwell.

We would love you to take part and be part of our sports community.

TENNIS

Takes place on Wednesday evenings in summer (from 5:30 pm) and on Wednesday afternoons (from 2 pm) in winter, weather, temperature, and energy permitting.

Most of us have played tennis before and are very keen but not very fit.

Exceptionally active senses of humour are essential.

Football

The DICS (Dads In Crudwell) football started as FIVE-A-SIDE on the multi-sports facility.

Football has now been going for so long that there is now healthy competition between the Dads and their (grown-up) sons; perhaps it ought to be renamed GDICS (grandad’s…..)

NETBALL

Takes place on Monday evenings between 18.30-19.30 a.m. This can be traditional netball or the new craze, Walking Netball, depending on the fitness and enthusiasm of the players.

Please contact us if you would like to become a subscriber or want to know more about these activities.

The multisports facility is self-funding purely from donations made to CRAG, a sub-committee of the charity.

The original build was funded by a mixture of regular donations from subscribers, fundraising from the Crudwell 24 hour Bike Ride, and matched funding from third parties.

Subsequent ongoing maintenance is still funded by subscribers to CRAG who donate £5/month. Other users are asked to make donations c/o Crudwell Post Office or The Wheatsheaf.

The porous court surface is suitable for ball sports only.  To keep the courts in good condition NO skateboarding or similar hard-wheeled activities are permitted.
